Five things you should be listening to this weekend (Vol. 13)

If your New Year’s resolution was to listen to more new music this year, then you’ve come to the right place. I know I fell off over Christmas a little bit, but it’s back to business as usual now, so let’s get down to it.

Mark Ronson – Daffodils (Feat. Kevin Parker)

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited for Mark Ronson’s upcoming album, Uptown Special. First there was Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars, which is all kinds of catchy, and now this. Ronson teamed up with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for Daffodils, which seems to take the best elements of what both artist is known for and manages to mash them together to create this little gem.

Action Bronson – Actin Crazy

Action Bronson dropped a new single this week, Actin Crazy, from his eagerly awaited debut album, Mr Wonderful. Actin Crazy sees Bronson call in help from producer Noah “40” Shebib, who’s been behind some major hits from Drake, Lil Wayne and A$AP Rocky, to name but a few. And I have to say, the artwork for this track is absolutely amazing.

Kuma – Falling For Somebody New

I guess you could technically class this track as a cover or remix, as it features the vocals from the Arctic Monkey’s hit, Do I Wanna Know. You could be forgiven for forgetting all about that though, as Kuma completely transforms the track. And make sure you keep listening till the very end, as the song takes a surprising, yet interesting turn.

Miguel – NWA (Feat. Kurupt)

This next track comes from RnB favourite Miguel’s surprise new EP, which he dropped towards the end of last year. The mix of Miguel’s falsetto and Kurupt’s old school, West Coast flow makes NWA seem like a match made in heaven.

Bondax – Dusk Funk (Feat. Ayah Marar)

It seems like every time Bondax put out a new track things just get better and better. Dusk Funk is another release from the Bondax and Friends album, and features vocals from Ayah Marar.
