Five things you should be listening to this weekend (Vol. 15)

Snowmaggedon is coming! Batten down the hatches and get ready for some Day After Tomorrow style mayhem! Well, not really. It’s a bit chilly and the weather is grim, but that’s not really any different to how it usually is. However, if the worst does happen and you get stranded in your home, at least you’ll have some good music to keep your spirits up!

Emile Haynie – A Kiss Goodbye (Reprise) (Feat. Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dev Hynes and Sampha)

Emile Haynie is the producer behind Kanye’s “Runaway”, FKA Twigs’ “Two Weeks” and a bunch of other big tunes, so needless to say he has an impressive list of musical friends to call on. Apparently, for A Kiss Goodbye, Emile set up a makeshift studio in his hotel room and had Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dev Hynes and Sampha pop by, as you do.

Jack Garratt – Worry

I’ve featured Jack Garratt on here before, back in November, but I’ve been listening to Worry loads this week and felt like putting him in again, so sue me.

Kaytranada – Drive Me Crazy (Feat. Vic Mensa)

After collaborating on Wimme Nah earlier this year, Kaytranada linked up with Vic Mensa again for Drive Me Crazy, which is the second single to come from Kaytranada’s upcoming debut album.

Lido – Slow (Feat. Halsey)

Slow sees Norwegian producer Lido team up with (rumoured girlfriend) Halsey and ticks all the right boxes for me – smooth, down-tempo, chilled out good times.

Snakehips – Gone (Feat. Syd)

We finish this post with UK duo Snakehips and their latest single, Gone. Snakehips are making a name for themselves thanks to their signature sound, and the vocals from Syd (of Odd Future fame) just seem to fit perfectly over the top of Gone.
